The Shire of Kalamunda, as part of the ‘Bush Skills for the Hills’ program are presenting a series of FREE films, highlighting topical environmental issues, in a fun, engaging and inspiring way.
You are invited to the second movie of the series; ‘Thin Green Line’ on Wednesday evening the 28th of April 2010.
Would you risk your life… for our planet’s tomorrow?
In some of the world’s most breathtaking protected areas, share this behind the scenes, unique and very personal view of men and women of the Thin Green Line as they talk to one of their own. You’ll experience their world as a ranger talking to rangers, all of whom are also husbands, wives, mothers, fathers—and its never a 9 to 5 job. Go side-by-side on patrol; experience their sacrifice, dedication, passion, fears, joys, exhilaration, love, despair, anguish… and hope. The daily fight to preserve our tomorrow, its more than a job.
Featuring music from John Butler Trio, Xavier Rudd, Blue King Brown, Cousin Leonard, TOV and many more.
Please visit http://www.thingreenline.info for more information on the Thin Green Line Foundation.
The movies are held at the Kalamunda Performing Art Centre, commencing at 7pm. Interactive displays and guests will be showcasing their initiatives before and after the film whilst you enjoy a light snack or beverage. Its a fantastic opportunity to see inspiring environmental projects on an international scale and get a glimpse into the lives of some of the most active and front-line communities involved in the global conservational challenge.
